Well Test Software

Central utilizes well test software to calculate and record field data during production testing operations. This data is regularly backed up on USB jump drives in the field and printed several times daily to ensure that data is not lost due to unforeseen electronic mishaps. A printed copy of the data is provided to the customer representative on location as directed.

When the project is complete, the rough data is processed and gas properties from samples sent to laboratories, are entered and gas rates are corrected. The finished report is then printed and saved on disk and delivered to the customer along with the dri-flow recorder charts. The final reports may be saved in many different formats depending on customer preference.

If the well test was done in Alberta, the Alberta Energy & Utilities Board (AEUB) will require a PAS.PRD file within 90 days of completion of the well test. Central creates PAS files and will certify and/or submit them on our customer’s behalf if requested. The PAS file will be included on the disk of information.

Customer File Access System

Data from the field can be sent electronically to Central head office. This can be done from virtually anywhere through the use of analog and digital cellular modems and satellite technology. Central uses web technology through which our customers may view the rough data in PDF format. The data from the field can be downloaded to the system at regularly scheduled times or as required by the customer. The data is viewed on a secure website and can only be accessed by people with the proper account name and password.
